Subject: gaim compiles OK without 'gnome' in USE; pan still broken
Date: Wed Oct 10 14:54:01 2001
Hi Gentoo Hackers,

Taking out 'gnome' from USE flags allowed me to get a useful gaim executable.
So far so good! I might even stick gnome back in there...

But Pan still gives me the same problems :(. I would hate to think that Pan
is tied to Gnome. Even so, I do have all the stuff that Martin suggested,
and pan still doesn't work :(.

OOPS!! I apologize! :)

On the second thought, I think ALTERNATIVE variable is not that useful. It's
probably better to just hand-code the .ebuild scripts to do the right thing.
