GMANE provides an alternative service for most mailing lists. c.f. bug 424647
I just got such a mail myself, but it makes sense - the changes made were
file attachments (which you don't get notified immediately), I assume that
if there is no activity on a certain bug it would send out the held
changes.
What was the change you made to the bug?
