Hrm, too bad, I only tested xfce as root here. I will test it as a
normal user now. 
I will make a new revision for xfce that works.

BTW. if you use emerge instead of ebuild you don't have to care about
dependencies. emerge handles them for you. virtual/glu gets resolved
from media-libs/mesa-glu. Check /etc/make.profile/virtuals.
