3 i suppose you're talking about gtkmm2 and friends here, i think because
4 it's pretty heavy in development and that would mean updating a bunch of
5 packages quite often over some time, while there is enough stable stuff
6 to attend to. Altough I know you can find some newer ones then those
7 that are in portage right now on bugzilla.

9 There are no packages relieing on it atm afaik, so that lowers its
10 priority as well.

12 Mostly they will work fine with version-bumping btw, so you can get
13 quite easily the latest and greatest at your personal system. But i
14 suppose when they enter the official tree all dependencies need to be
15 checked as well, which is time consuming (the first versions in portage
16 were mine if i remember correctly).
