Does anyone think it would be possible to create at least an initial kernel |
2 |
.config based on dmesg output? |
3 |
|
4 |
My train of thought is for gentoo installation and initial emerge of linux |
5 |
sources. If gentoo could check the dmesg output for what failed to load (when |
6 |
the system is booted from the rc3 install CD for example) and see what |
7 |
succeded then output a .config into the /usr/src/linux directory it would go |
8 |
along with Gentoo's ultra coolness factor. :) |
9 |
|
10 |
If something like that is possble and not sci-fi I would say it belongs in the |
11 |
ebuild script of gentoo-sources (and/or possibly all source scripts) and |
12 |
invoked ONLY during the initial install of course. |
13 |
|
14 |
Far fetched? No way? Or should I pose it as an enhancement on bugs.gentoo.org? |
15 |
|
16 |
Anyone? |

Thanks, |
