Subject: ebuild for python-dev package - I need some help

Hi,
I'd like to build a package  dev-python/pyparsing-9999
This has worked early, but anyhow it stopped working after
upgrading to Python-2.7.1 previously.
The package is unpacked into
/var/tmp/portage/dev-python/pyparsing-9999/work/pyparsing-9999
which contains the folders
doc examples and src.
And setup.py is contained in src.
My attempt (see below) fails with
python2.7 setup.py build -b build-2.7
python2.7: can't open file 'setup.py': [Errno 2] No such file or 
directory

Any help is very much appreciated,
