As the decision to allow for creation of the role of 'user |
6 |
representative' is rather new the definition is not one which has been |
7 |
set in stone just yet. However, I will try to answer your question, |
8 |
since the user relations project is intended to act as a bridge between |
9 |
developers and users, it is important that we do not let our assumptions |
10 |
as developers get in the way of communications with users. Many users |
11 |
may be unfamiliar with concepts or terminology that to a developer seems |
12 |
commonplace and easy to understand. The 'user representatives' are |
13 |
intended as a way to get feedback from non-developers on such things, |
14 |
for example to ensure that a survey is written in such a way as to be |
15 |
comprehensible to users before it is sent out. The role is intended as a |
16 |
way to get reliable input from non-developers in order to ensure that |
17 |
what we do has the maximum benefit for users and developers alike. |
18 |
|
19 |
The role description is subject to change as we are currently trying to |
20 |
fine tune it (you caught us a bit too soon!), when the role has been |
21 |
properly defined I will send the description out to this list as well as |
22 |
including it on the User Relations page. |
