Personally, I think it's a good idea and it will certainly help with
maintenance.  The thing is, I don't really know anything about the
guts of GuideXML. :)  If it's possible, I'd certainly be willing to
help move the common areas into separate files and subject the PPC
guide to the surgery required to make it happen.

I guess the big question is: What would be required to make this work?
