As written by Natanael, baselayout-2 works great and does everything you |

asked about. Concerning the mdev stuff: if you think, there is something |

missing, just have a look at the scripts I send on this list and try a |

little bit out. It is not really hard and you can adapt or expand the |
| 14 |
scripts quite easily to your hardware. If you do something like this, |
| 15 |
please send it on this list. |

On the other hand, if you want "complete" device file support without |

writing scripts for mdev, you can use of course udev. Of course it |
| 19 |
increases the size of your embedded system, but if you can afford this, |
| 20 |
then just use it. It is fully supported by Gentoo (which is not the case |
| 21 |
with mdev), so you should have no problems. |
