i'm trying to make a stand alone vlc player on the fb-device of an |

embedded-gentoo box. |

VLC does compile, but i have a question on how i should do it right. |

VLC comes with lots of dependencies. Is it better to link it staticly or |

dynamicly to gain space on the box? |

VLC will be the only app running on the box, together with dropbear and boa. |

And if static is the best way to go, how should i do this "the gentoo way", |
| 12 |
with ebuilds? VLC hasn't got a static use flag. |
