I believe solar also is doing development in this vein. |

Interesting thread, I hadn't seen that before. |

like I said, baselayout lite is already in portage. All one has to do |
26 |
for a bootable system is baselayout-lite + busybox-1.00-pre8 to get a |
27 |
booting workable filesystem. That's a great place to start. |

Unfortunatly due to the nature of these embedded systems one has to really |
30 |
know how linux works and what little bits it needs here or there. As |
31 |
a result we won't likely have a 'boxed' software package to deliver. |
32 |
Most likely what will happen is that a framework for easily |
33 |
contstructing embedded software systems will be provided, with some |
34 |
examples to get one started. |
35 |
|
36 |
At this point we have peices of the framework written and working, |
37 |
it's just a matter of adding some features we badly need(like uclibc) |
38 |
and documenting how to use them. |

usually I've found gentoo list archives on gmane.org. However I have |
48 |
not seen gentoo embedded there for some reason. I'm sure if you ask |
49 |
somebody could give you the archives. |
50 |
|
51 |
we are desperately in need of more developers as well. Feel free to |
52 |
contribute what you can. |
