Many network appliances log a little to RAM with a circular utility,
overwriting the oldest logs when the allocated memory is used up, along
with the option to send everything to a remote syslog server. My network
appliance of choice, m0n0wall, uses the FreeBSD syslogd with circular
logging (clog).

Is there a circular logging utility in Portage? Is the clog patch to
syslogd trivial to apply? I'd be curious if anyone on this list has some
stories with circular logging.
