I am a newbie here (to this list serv and embedded development) and |

relatively new to Gentoo as well. Migrated from Red Hat a couple of |

months ago and so far I am loving every moment with Gentoo :) |

Recently I purchased an ARM based Sharp embedded development kit with a |

LH7A400-10 card engine from Sharp (Product details available at |

http://logicpd.com/). I found my way to something called Embedix |

developed by Lineo and taken over by Metrowerks for the card engine. The |
| 11 |
build environment is distributed as rpms. I have managed to download and |
| 12 |
install it but I get an error when I chroot into the build environment |
| 13 |
for Embedix. |

While I keep battling with that side of things, the thought passed my |
| 16 |
mind that Gentoo could be an option for this system. Is anyone out there |
| 17 |
playing with similar hardware or can give me any suggestions on getting |
| 18 |
started. |
