This is what I came to, too. I just realized, that a) dbus adds to much overhead b) dbus experience can be reduced a lot on slow systems (due to timeouts) - as the calls involved can be really consuming. This is perhaps in contrary to the usage in most dbus applications Though I still like the idea of putting dbus-bindings on top (optional of course). And then only once. I also was in the mid of getting a c-lib to access portage.

Of course :) - though I don't think it can be re-used. Except perhaps the "access portage from c" part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIB8xI4UOg/zhYFuARAprPAJ476DdgqM0G4eu0dvvWNgW9f+TiLACeNX80 5+GEBXWqJYc4n69dzBr9U7o= =ti16 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- gentoo-guis@l.g.o mailing list
