5 That's what we really need; Pascal's suggestion of using a script to
6 populate the .classpath file is a neat workaround, but really what would
7 make more sense is something that provided our packages (jars & sources,
8 etc) fully configured and available as User Libraries or whatever.

16 P.S. A Java based solution for this would also go a long way towards
17 providing the infrastructure that would be needed by a maven plugin that
18 would allow us to use libraries already on the system (as opposed to
19 bringing in arbitrary binaries from untrusted sources) which has been
20 another pain point for quite some time now.
