Hello All,

I am having the following problem with my kernel.  When I try to boot 
it, I get the following error:

And yes, my root device is /dev/sda3.  My current working kernel does 
boot from there fine but not the new one

Any thoughts on the problem below:

Sacnning for sata_uli...cat: /lib/modules/2.6.16-gentoo-r3/modules.dep: 
No such file or directory

 >> Determining root device
!! Block device /dev/sda3 is not a valid root device...
!! The root block device is unspecified or not detected.

Please specify a device to boot, or "shell" for a shell...
