10 Are you saying that the knoppix disk won't boot? That would be strange -
11 in my experience non-booting livecds usually fixed by adding kernel
12 options (acpi or irq options usually) during the boot processes. That's
13 quite easy on the gentoo livecd for instance, not sure how to do it on
14 knoppix.

16 If you have a booting gentoo system and can't mount the knoppix disk
17 from within gentoo - if you are sure the CD isn't corrupted in it's
18 filesystem: then it probably comes down once again to kernel issues -
19 probably a lack of a certain filesystem support in

22 support for a particular file system not built into kernel etc. etc.
