If you're not in an X session this won't work. If X is running, and with |

permission for you to use it, you can do this from within X, where it |

will work without any bother, or in a virtual console, in which case you |
| 13 |
will need to give it a display. This should usually be something like. |

"DISPLAY=:0 <command>" |

or, if you want to have DISPLAY=:0 for the rest of the session, |

"export DISPLAY=:0; <command>" |
