RE: [gentoo-laptop] Dell latitude X410

I managed partially with  wifi, however for time being I use wired network
(I'll handle it later on - some encryption problems)

Since I will use genkernel I'll leave audio when all the system is installed
(maybe after compilation of modules it will work properly)

But I have another problem during compiling packets in stage 2

Compilation gets terminated due to some missing file ( I attach logfile and
make.conf listing)

I can't figure out why it went wrong

I agree on the USB CD thing - I've used a couple of custom CD's in the past
(on a Firewire drive) that were much easier. I suppose it's hard for the
devs to test every quirky hardware configuration though.

All three pieces of hardware you mentioned should work fine. It could be a
bit interesting if you don't have an internet connection until the wi-fi
card works though :)

(a) I had one of these in the past - it seemed to work fine as an Intel 8x0
chipset.
(b) There are guides out there - the one I used for mine was

(c) I believe this is supported by the ipw2200 project. I can't give any
details though.
