Sorry , I should have gave a little more detail. On my model (the |
2 |
M300CRV) the video BIOS is broken. |
3 |
1024x768 is listed in the V_BIOS but X6.X will not see this |
4 |
resolution. It only sees 800x600 and 640x480. |
5 |
The video memory is 32MB so that is not an issue. I called Gateway many |
6 |
times to ask if they could issue |
7 |
a new BIOS to fix the problem and all I had to an answer is "we do |
8 |
support Linux , it works properly in Windows" |
9 |
|
10 |
They would not even tell me if there was an older version or a beta that |
11 |
I could even try. |
12 |
|
13 |
If anyone one has any ideas on how to get 1024x768 (no mode by this |
14 |
name) I would be very thankful |
15 |

Things I tried: 855resolution - set all entries to 1024x768 |
19 |
@50 different modelines |
20 |
framebuffer stuff |
21 |
VESA - does not list 1024x768 |
