Hi Lispers,
we've been lagging behind on Gambit updates for a while, because Gambit has a
build system that is uncompatible with using a DESTDIR. Last weekend I spent
some time to hack the build system to make this work anyway. It isn't pretty,
but it works for now. You can get the results from our overlay, where it will
probably remain. Only USE="-static" works.
