Daniel, |

I'm disappointed you feel that Gentoo needs a revolution rather than a |
25 |
slow steady planned and tested change from within. I became a Gentoo |
26 |
staffer shortly before the current setup was created and know very |
27 |
little about the 'old times', with you as Chief Architect in the pre |
28 |
council/foundation organisation. |
29 |
|
30 |
The problem with revolutions is that there is no alpha testing and no |
31 |
going back. You can go from one thing that doesn't work to a different |
32 |
thing that doesn't work overnight. To cite various real world examples, |
33 |
look at 20th Century political revolutions. |
34 |
|
35 |
Its much safer to work for incremental change from within, so it can be |
36 |
trialled and backed out if its found wanting. Gentoo users want change, |
37 |
they also want stability, a revolution is a very high risk strategy to |
38 |
deliver a suitable compromise. |
39 |
|
40 |
I hope you have the opportunity to reconsider your decision not to |
41 |
stand as a trustee. |
