Very true. Before we give away any control, or hire professionals, I |

want to look at ways of expanding Foundation membership among the user |

base. Gentoo users have a much wider skill set and interests than the |

developers do. If the trustees can find a way to draw on these skills |

and interests, there may be no need for professional administration at |
| 33 |
all. |

At the moment, I see that this would need a register of users, a |

qualifying period and so on, much like the rules for developers. |

Registered users would be able to both vote for and serve as trustees. |

There are all sorts of practical problems to resolve - e.g. one user, |

one vote. Registration would of course be completely voluntary. |

Such a system would also promote user involvement and bring the |

perceived 'them' (the devs) and 'us' (the users) closer together. |
