21 The only location that the word Gentoo shows up independently (as in not
22 part of mirror://gentoo et. al.) in most ebuilds is the Copyright Header
23 which states Copyright <date range> Gentoo Foundation. The question is
24 is the usage of the word Gentoo in this context privy to our trademark.

26 Come to think of it I also wonder weather that statement should be
27 amended (not changed in the tree just changed for the future) to say
28 Copyright <date range> The Gentoo® Foundation, Inc. as it is the name of
29 the corporation that will hold (once the copyright grant issues are
30 finalized) the copyright on the works contained in the ebuilds.

32 Also just and fyi I just made a test ebuild with the registered
33 trademark character (unicode: U+00AE be careful as I don't think that
34 ascii 174 is valid) and it passes glep31check so if we do have to add
35 them it seems to be ok.
