The mailing lists have always enjoyed messing with me. The effect
of using multiple hosts when I post and subscribe.

Yes, I nominate myself for Trustee. I suppose since everyone else
is expanding their reasons to nominate I should as well.

I've been a dev since 2002, almost completely focused upon
Portage development and maintainership since the end of 2002.

I stumbled into Gentoo twice, the first time arguing the failings
versus Slackware to LostLogic, the second time beginning to enjoy
it as a few baselayout bugs were fixed that let me install. ;)

Gentoo development is what I enjoy, and was initially what I
set out to do for a career. That particular startup died with
9/11. International technology projects don't fare well in
post tragedy, slumping economies.

I truly enjoy working with Gentoo and seeing it thrive. The work
is quite fun, and thus, against the daily grind of software
development, it serves as a nice respite where I can code what
I enjoy in my own time, at my own pace, and hang out with developers
interested in enjoying themselves.

Gentoo for me starts with having fun. I joined Gentoo for the
challenge, but stayed with Gentoo for the people. Even with all
the complaints and the flamewars and everything else that leaves
that foul, bitter taste in one's mouth, I still come back. I'm
here because it's the community, the developers, that make me
want to stay.

I'd like to see Gentoo stay that way. That's why I want to be
a trustee... to perhaps steady anything that might sway that.
We haven't necessarily been in any position to do anything
like that, but I'd still like to be there when something comes
up.

As for what I've done... Sole responsibility, nothing that I
can recall. Most of my contribution as a trustee was either
knowledge of portage or some technical merits. Along with
those contributions I've done a lot of gophering, such as
a signature and a fax, OCR'ing some docs, some graphics
manipulations for some documents. Just good availability and
a quick response.
