I have a few ideas for the coop thingy, but before I post them I'd like
someone (drobbins?) to post a summary of any existing ideas/proposal (or at
least what in general people think when they hear 'coop'). The managers'
meeting log wasn't very clear on some issues (such as what if anything the
universities are doing). If there isn't anything written out clearly yet, my
rambling might still give a good idea to someone.

As for the NFP, personally I'm less interested in it, because (as Lance
pointed out) it tries to prevent future problems, while the coop addresses
existing ones - lack of funding linked to community feedback in FOSS
development. So I'd like to look at the coop possibilities.
