If this were his first time coming back, might consider handing him the |
8 |
reins again. But this time IMHO it needs to be earned a little bit. I |
9 |
think many that were around last time he came and left. Have a bit of a |
10 |
bitter taste in their mouth from all that. |

I supported the let's give Daniel some respect as the creator when he |
13 |
came back last. Look in -dev archive, distro watch article, etc. Just to |
14 |
get it thrown back in my face when Daniel resigned a few days after |
15 |
becoming a dev again. :( |
16 |
|
17 |
And oh by the way, the foundation was in the same shape then. So if he |
18 |
cares so much. He could have just focused on the foundation as a dev, |
19 |
verses resigning and making this offer months later. |
20 |
|
21 |
Much less, if things were done right when he left the first time. The |
22 |
foundation would be in great shape then and now. So after 2 chances |
23 |
already, we should be quick to issue a 3rd with full power? What will be |
24 |
done differently this time? |
25 |
|
26 |
Daniels contributions will be welcomed as all's are. But at min we will |
27 |
expect of him what we expect from all devs or contributors. Some level |
28 |
of long term commitment to Gentoo. Coming and going does nothing for |
29 |
anyone. |
