Hi Deedra, |
22 |
|
23 |
The Foundation lawyers are already late, so I can't continue to wait |
24 |
for them. There simply isn't enough time for the inevitable |
25 |
back-and-forth to iron out any issues with this agreement they're |
26 |
working on. |
27 |
|
28 |
And note that in order to get this through quickly, I'm totally giving |
29 |
up my right to any kind of license of the gentoo marks. |
30 |
|
31 |
Filing these papers is a very effective way to transfer |
32 |
copyright/trademarks to the Foundation. |
33 |
|
34 |
For the transfer of copyright, we will use similar language as to what |
35 |
was included in g2boojum's agreement, and include a files.txt file |
36 |
listing. The agreement will apply to any copyrights already |
37 |
transferred to Gentoo Technologies, Inc. Basically the agreement will |
38 |
say that any title and interest that Gentoo Technologies, Inc. may |
39 |
have in the cvs tree is now owned by the Foundation. That's the basic |
40 |
legalese of it, anyway. It will be a very clean transfer. |
41 |
|
42 |
I seem to have some assurance from trustees that my |
43 |
drobbins@g.o alias (currently and likely forever being |
44 |
forwarded to a gmail account) will remain active for as long as I want |
45 |
it. I also ask that you keep store.gentoo.org and the store@g.o |
46 |
alias going through mid-June for customer-service reasons (though |
47 |
please unlink it from the main site on May 23rd). |
48 |
|
49 |
So I'm going to transfer everything over to the Foundation. I hope |
50 |
that's OK. Sorry for the rush :/ |
51 |
|
52 |
Sincerely, |
53 |
|
54 |
Daniel |
