The Foundation doesn't really own many of our servers. Almost all of
them are "donated" to us in the sense of belonging to "Gentoo" (in the
rather vague sense, not the proper legal Gentoo Foundation) or being
available for Gentoo's use. We had a lot of servers before the
Foundation, and they weren't all owned by Gentoo Technologies, Inc. In
fact, I think only one or two were actually owned, the rest were loaned
to us, indefinitely. That situation hasn't changed much, except for the
few servers that we've purchased recently. Most of our hardware belongs
to our sponsors, our developers, or various other companies whom have
loaned us the equipment.
