1 There are some efforts underway (pypy) to improve the performance of
2 python (which may or may not pan out). Sorry, I didn't intend to say
3 that you should only program in python (even though I prefer to when
4 able). I'm quite aware that many people find python annoying. Just
5 thought that it might make sense in this case since portage is written
6 in python, it should be pretty easy to get a frontend cleanly
7 integrated using it.

9 I'm not an objc nor cocoa person so I can't really comment on that
10 front (read portions of the oreilly cocoa book and wasn't motivated to
11 continue ;( ). Also as the only Mac I have access to is one at work,
12 I don't know that I'll be writing any frontend for osx. My interest
13 here is in the generalized PREFIX install.
