3 | When syncing against a cvs server, emerge can have some odd behavior with initial checkout. The attached patch makes a few trivial changes intended to correct this behavior. |

5 | Effectively, the only change this makes is to move $PORTDIR to gentoo-x86 and then make sure that $PORTDIR is moved back again before portage exits. I have tested this patch and it seems to work well. |
