1 OpenOffice 1.0.1-r1 builds and runs fine* on PPC, using Blackdown JDK and **important** glibc 2.2.5-r8. A bug in earlier glibc's prevents building on archs without a distinction between double and long double.

4 Disclaimer: I've had two problems with OpenOffice which I cannot seem to debug. Firstly, OO Writer kills X (X segfaults) when I click the dropdown list for fonts. I can manipulate fonts in other spots (like the paragraph style modify dialogs), and I can use other dropdown lists. Since this also occurs in openoffice-bin, I doubt it has anything to do with building and running OO on PPC in and of itself. Secondly, my gcc segfaulted four times while building OO, before I could finally get it to finish (thank you, ccache). My gcc segfaulted on couple of other packages as well, so I also don't think this has anything to do with building OO on PPC.
