GMANE provides an alternative service for most mailing lists. c.f. bug 424647
I decided to try building Gentoo with -O3 as my default. Results so far:
- base system (compilers, glibc, kernel) all performing faultlessly,
and significantly faster than my Debian build
- xmms and freeamp both segfault when trying to play; mpg123 works fine
- mozilla is working great
- enlightenment is fine (though no epplets - haven't been ported yet, I
assume)
overall, a great improvement over my previous linuxen (linuxes?). Thanks
