I have absolutely no idea :-). The main reason we're using ncompress in
the xanim ebuild is because sparc was using it already (also .Z
extension) when I merged xanim.
If those files can be uncompressed using gunzip, it would be better to use
that instead of ncompress. Meanwhile I've added ncompress to 'system',
that can't hurt.
