Bill Buck of Genesi S.รก.r.l. (the company that donated 10+ PowerPC boxes |

to Gentoo developers recently) has asked me to ask you to take the |

developer survey available at this location: |

The survey is being conducted by Freescale Semiconductor (former |
| 8 |
Motorola Semiconductor), the designer of the PowerPC processor. Genesi |
| 9 |
has done a lot of legwork to increase Freescale's interest in Linux |
| 10 |
recently. Previously Freescale only showed a mild interest in Linux but |
| 11 |
Genesi has convinced them that there is a future for Linux, not only on |
| 12 |
servers and embedded systems but in other kinds of applications as well. |
| 13 |
They have already invested a large amount of money, for instance by |
| 14 |
donating 100+ PowerPC boxes to different projects (including Gentoo). If |
| 15 |
we show them that a lot of people use Linux on PowerPC desktop boxes, |
| 16 |
and other solutions, hopefully they will invest even more money in the |
| 17 |
future. |
