Hi All, |
2 |
|
3 |
Two questions: |
4 |
|
5 |
One: |
6 |
I'm currently using Gentoo for x86 (I love it) but when I tried to |
7 |
install it on my Powerbook Lombard, I couldn't get the networking to |
8 |
come up, even after modprobing. I assure you, I'm no Linux newbie. |
9 |
This was about two weeks ago or so, maybe a little less. I needed the |
10 |
powerbook to work with Linux, so I just installed Debian, which is cool, |
11 |
but I'm psyched to get Gentoo up and running on this. So, anyone know a |
12 |
workaround, or if there have been distro changes to reflect this |
13 |
problem? |
14 |
|
15 |
Two: |
16 |
Is there a current PPC kernel that works on the new G4s? I'm getting |
17 |
one at work, and while MacOS is fine and all that, I'm more of a linux |
18 |
head. I realize that the thing will more than likely boot, but will X |
19 |
work? If any of you have experience with any flavor of Linux on this |
20 |
box, I'd be curious to hear. |
21 |
|
22 |
Thanks in advance, and to the ppc-devs out there, keep it up! It is |
23 |
good to have choice on the L/PPC platform. |
