Using the gentoo-ppc-1.2-r1.iso I found the following problems: |
7 |
1. I had to use the 'boot-safe' option, otherwise I got a blank screen |
8 |
where I was expecting the penguin-graphic/boot messages. Is this a |
9 |
known issue with certain hardware configurations? |
10 |
|
11 |
2. When running the bootstrap.sh script, when the /dev entries are |
12 |
made using the MAKEDEV script, I get a message along the lines of: |
13 |
"Could not rename device hda10- to hda10: Permission denied" for every |
14 |
device in /dev. I'm reciting the error message from memory so the |
15 |
exact wording may be wrong... Is this normal( i.e. can I safely ignore |
16 |
this )? Does this have to do with the fact that I'm in 'safe' mode( |
17 |
i.e. devfs issues causing this )? |
