Well I did all that. Seems to work nicely - good (not very good) performance on |

DVDs (worse than OS X, when others have reported that Linux should be faster). |

At least this kernel drm driver didn't shut my machine (iBook 800) down appon |

starting X. (Yes, the driver from Gatos fscked my machine somewhat - shut it |

down, then reset my hardware clock to 1904, I kid you not. |

Anyway - I still have the same problems with this, and all non-fbdev drivers. |

I get a slightly irritating faint mouse cursor. It is barely visible on white |

webpages, and have a blurred, shadowy look. I haven't a clue what the problem |

is but maybe someone does. The screen scrambles somewhat on starting X as well. |

This isn't a problem, but is worrying. It does right itself within a few seconds. |
