Subject: make.conf: CFLAGS
Date: Sat, 28 Jun 2003 03:29:42 +0800 (GMT-8)
Hello, All:

I accidentally overwrote my /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf file with the
/etc/make.conf file. Can someone please tell me if...

A. the default CFLAGS setting (-02 -pipe -fsigned-char) is correct for my
   Lombard G3, and
B. there are any other settings that I really *need* to set.

I got and error on Step 13 (compiling my own kernel) when executing `make
clean vmlinux modules modules_install`: After...

arch/ppc/platforms/platform.(.text.pmac+0x5478): In function
'pmu_set_cpu_speed': relocation truncated to fit: R_PPC_REL24...

...the process died...

make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1

What happened? Was this the CPU scaling feature failing?
