GMANE provides an alternative service for most mailing lists. c.f. bug 424647
you have to excuse me i'm only fifteen so ya well i fixed my PASSWD
problem its was all in the permissions if one of you out there decided
to be as incredibly stupid as myself then go ahead because i have the
fix (regis..AHA) so here it is if you were interested
you cd /etc
/usr/sbin/pwconv .. right...
then cp passwd ~passwd
chmod 600 ~passwd
chown root passwd
chown root shadow
chmod 0644 passwd
chmod 0640 shadow
then
cd /etc
cp ~passwd passwd
chmod 644
