I posted an article today that talks of Linus' feelings towards the G5, and they
were encouraging:

My post to Macslash was edited quite a bit, and I thought this was a bigger deal
than that.  I think OS X is a great OS, but it's not for me.  Apple hardware on
the other hand, is the best, and in ~6 months I'll be shopping for a new
workstation.  It'll either be an Opteron or a G5, running Gentoo natch, so this
64Bit talk about new archs interests me.
