that's probably the quickest way, i added an:

append="keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes=1"

to the yaboot.conf file (just after the root location).  
or you could recompile yr kernel without ADB 
keycodes.  for more information, check out:
http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/keycodes
