>Do you still get the "mox" output when booting? |
2 |
|
3 |
I haven't been able to catch it yet and I might never |
4 |
again. The screen where "mox" is output flashes by so |
5 |
fast that my eye has to be exactly where the word |
6 |
appears in order to be able to see it. On changing OF |
7 |
settings to the factory default, the typeface was much |
8 |
reduced from what it was and I fear I'll not be able to |
9 |
see "mox" anymore even if it does appear. |
10 |
|
11 |
I'll try looking for it on my other iMac; it's an |
12 |
identical bondi which is running YDL and wvdial. No |
13 |
problems on that box, so if "mox" shows up there, then |
14 |
it's probably not contributing to the issue affecting |
15 |
my Gentoo iMac. |

|
17 |
Thanks very much for the URL on setting up ppp by hand. |
18 |
I'll proceed in that direction now. |
19 |
|
20 |
BTW, I'm not partial to kppp (running fluxbox); I tried |
21 |
it because 1) wvdial is masked in the latest ebuilds 2) |
22 |
wvdial wouldn't work previously 3) most of the modem |
23 |
config instructions for iMacs I've seen at various |
24 |
sites focus on kppp. |
