Hi, |
2 |
|
3 |
Im having problems that are X related... mozilla/etc/etc all barf on |
4 |
some web pages (with international character sets I think) with the |
5 |
following barfage: |
6 |
|
7 |
Visiting: |
8 |
http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Main_Page |
9 |
Crashes out with: |
10 |
korg@rahu ~ $ firefox |
11 |
/usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/mozilla-xremote-client: Error: Failed to find |
12 |
a running server. |
13 |
No running windows found |
14 |
<visit the url> |
15 |
The program 'firefox-bin' received an X Window System error. |
16 |
This probably reflects a bug in the program. |
17 |
The error was 'RenderBadGlyphSet (invalid GlyphSet parameter)'. |
18 |
(Details: serial 94617 error_code 176 request_code 152 minor_code |
19 |
24) |
20 |
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported |
21 |
asynchronously; |
22 |
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. |
23 |
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line |
24 |
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful |
25 |
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() |
26 |
function.) |
27 |
firefox-bin exited with non-zero status (1) |
28 |
|
29 |
Now, it _isnt_ a fire fox thing because im running remotly (ie, it |
30 |
only displays to my ppc64, this is firefox running off an x86 and it |
31 |
also barfs, where as its stable if displaying to the x86 display) |
32 |
(Same behaviour with ppc32 firefox, ok on ppc32 machine, barfs on |
33 |
ppc64). |
34 |
|
35 |
I built a ppc32 gentoo chroot on my ppc64 and I can run X and visit |
36 |
http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Main_Page without it crashing. |
37 |
|
38 |
Rebuilding X doesnt fix it. |
39 |
|
40 |
So it seems to be an xorg-x11 / ppc64 problem... |
41 |
|
42 |
Has anyone had anything like this? |
43 |
|
44 |
Anyone have any ideas? |
45 |
|
46 |
Google sint very helpful on RenderBadGlyphSet errors. |
47 |
|
48 |
Im about to try rebuilding Xorg -unicode... ? maybe that will fix it? |
49 |
|
50 |
*confused and needing help*, |
