Hi... |
2 |
|
3 |
Ok, since I have this Power Mac 8600 in the next room, which is likely to |
4 |
become a web server before too long, there's something I've been |
5 |
wondering about. It has no local video, due to me not yet being bright |
6 |
enough to figure out what's wrong, but that's ok -- that's why we have |
7 |
SSH. ;) |
8 |
|
9 |
What I'm wondering is, is there some way using some combination of NFS, |
10 |
automount, and maybe a quick shell script or two (I can say "Hello World" |
11 |
in Perl, too...) that I could get removable media mounted on the Mac to |
12 |
appear on my KDE desktop? Preferably in the Mac mode -- put a disk in, |
13 |
it appears; drop it in the trash, it ejects -- or close to. |
14 |
|
15 |
Anyway, if someone has done this, it would be fun to know about. I |
16 |
haven't even got NFS working yet, so this is just a dream right now, but |
17 |
it would help me get the contents of some old Zip disks onto this PC. :) |
