Alright heres the deal, I started an 'emerge -u world' |

yesterday with the ~ppc keyword and it started |

downloading. later i checked the 'emerge -up world' |
| 4 |
and noticed that it wanted me to update portage so |
| 5 |
killed the 'emerge -u world'. then i skiped right to |
| 6 |
the portage updating and overnight it seemed to work. |
| 7 |
i tried to start 'emerge -u *2.2.1* at |
| 8 |
gnome-base/gnome/*.ebuild. and at first before the |
| 9 |
portage update(and some other utils, gcc, perl, etc.) |
| 10 |
it worked perfectly and is going through all of the |
| 11 |
dependencies as we speak at my home. so im not sure |
| 12 |
where it was the update of gcc, automake, autoconf, |
| 13 |
perl, libperl..... blah blah, OR was it the portage |
| 14 |
update? i did both at the same time (i know its |
| 15 |
against the scientific method) but the combination |
| 16 |
worked. so let us know if anyone else has had anything |
| 17 |
similar. thanks again for your help... |
