Hi, |

12 |
This was the right pointer! |
13 |
|
14 |
So I started to search for manuals etc. dealing with mach64 and DRM. |
15 |
|
16 |
What I did, step by step: |
17 |
|
18 |
1. Remove kernel-DRM or use it as module, |
19 |
get latest DRM from CVS, |
20 |
compile DRM and restart (reload kernel) [1] |
21 |
|
22 |
2. Set useflag insecure-drivers for Xorg and recompile Xorg [2] |
23 |
|
24 |
3. Use not more than 16 bpp for color depth [3] & add the line |
25 |
Option "DMAMode" "async" |
26 |
to /etc/X11/xorg.conf [4] |

Now glxgears reports: "direct rendering: Yes" and Xorg.0.log looks fine. |
35 |
But when I start glxgears a black window opens and Xorg freezes hard. I |
36 |
can log into the machine with ssh, kill and restart Xorg and take a look |
37 |
in the logfiles. But I can't find any useful informations in the logfiles. |
