Agreed; auto-join isn't difficult, and this is only for such times as the
individual is logged on to IRC in any case. If they can't be bothered to add
the channel, why should the project take them seriously?
It leaves the membership of such a group open to abuse if someone can randomly
decide they are a member again, and then drift off when any real work needs
to be done. It's unfair on the rest of the group, and facilitates politicking
rather than development.
(I appreciate that people use irssi over screen. I really don't see how it's
relevant though; set it up so the support group channel is always /joined and
forget about it. If you have too many windows, close one of the other
ones.. ;)
