The Sixth Annual SoCal Linux Expo will be February 8th-10th, 2008. It |

will again be at the Westin LAX. SCALE has reserved more of the hotel |
| 3 |
resources for SCALE 6X which will help address some of the seminar |
| 4 |
crowding issues that arose during S5X (success is a nice problem to have). |
| 5 |

Over the last two SCALEs, the Expo has expanded to included specialized |
| 7 |
conferences on the Friday prior to SCALE. The Expo will “expand upon the |
| 8 |
expansion” for SCALE 6x: the Women in Open Source conference will return |
| 9 |
for its second year; the health care conference, now knows as DOHCS – |
| 10 |
Demonstrating Open Source Health Care Systems, returns for a second |
| 11 |
time. Last year DOHCS was a single track. For SCALE 6X, DOHCS splits |
| 12 |
into two tracks, a technical track and a business track. |
| 13 |

And newly added for SCALE 6X is a Friday conference on education: “Open |
| 15 |
Source in Education” which focuses on opportunities for Open Source in |
| 16 |
the field of education . |

consider sharing it with the Open Source community at SCALE: the calls |

All of the calls are now open for submittals. For SCALE 4X and 5X the |

speaker slots filled rapidly; we anticipate the same for SCALE 6X. So if |

you're considering speaking, don't delay submitting your proposal. |

If your organization is considering a booth on the SCALE Expo floor, be |

advised that we no more booths than last year, and last year they went |

quickly. If you want to ensure that you have a booth reserved, apply for |
