4 |
Good day, |
5 |
|
6 |
As many of you are already aware, Gentoo had two projects[1][2] |
7 |
dealing with inter-developer and developer/user conflicts. These |
8 |
two projects (devrel, userrel respectively) are now merged into a |
9 |
single project named Community Relations (comrel)[3]. This project, |
10 |
along with Recruiters and Undertakers, is now a subproject of an |
11 |
umbrella project called Community Resources[4]. |
12 |
|
13 |
The Community Resources project is an umbrella project with no |
14 |
members, goals or specific mission. It's only purpose is to act as |
15 |
a central place for all current and future Human Resources related |
16 |
projects in Gentoo Linux. |
17 |
|
18 |
Currently, the following 3 subprojects are part of Community |
19 |
Resources: |
20 |
|
21 |
1) Community Relations (formerly known as devrel and userrel) aka |
22 |
comrel. |
23 |
2) Recruiters |
24 |
3) Undertakers |
25 |
|
26 |
For most of you the most interesting bit here is the new Community |
27 |
Relations subproject: |
28 |
|
29 |
This project is responsible to help with inter-developer and |
30 |
user/developer conflicts as well as making sure that everyone |
31 |
involved sticks to the CoC. Regarding the conflicts, nothing |
32 |
changes compared to how devrel operated. This means, each case is |
33 |
handled separately and only after every other means to solve the |
34 |
problem have failed. I would like to remind you that you should try |
35 |
hard to solve the problem yourself or by involving the other team |
36 |
members or the team leader *before* you reach out to Community |
37 |
Relations. |
38 |
|
39 |
Regarding the CoC enforcement, the following rules apply with |
40 |
immediate effect: |
41 |
|
42 |
For CoC violations in IRC (mainly #gentoo-dev): |
43 |
|
44 |
- - 24 hour ban from the IRC channel. |
45 |
- - Every third ban is followed by a ban for one week. |
46 |
- - For repetitive violations, the case may be escalated to Community |
47 |
Relations for further disciplinary actions. |
48 |
|
49 |
For CoC violations in bugzilla |
50 |
|
51 |
- - 48 hour ban from bugzilla. |
52 |
- - Every third violation, the developer will lose his/her cvs access |
53 |
for two days. |
54 |
- - For repetitive violations, the case may be escalated to Community |
55 |
Relations for further disciplinary actions. |
56 |
|
57 |
For CoC violations in mailing lists: |
58 |
|
59 |
- - 7 day ban from the mailing list. |
60 |
- - Every third violation is followed by a ban for one month. |
61 |
- - For repetitive violations, the case may be escalated to Community |
62 |
Relations for further disciplinary actions. |
63 |
|
64 |
In order for the previous penalties to be applied, two or more |
65 |
Community Relations members have to agree with the proposed |
66 |
penalty. The majority of Community Relations members can render any |
67 |
decision void within 72 hours in order to prevent accumulative |
68 |
effects. |
69 |
|
70 |
I would like to ask you to read the project pages *before* asking |
71 |
questions in case something is not clear. Please remember that not |
72 |
all pages are up to date (yet) so please inform us regarding |
73 |
improvements or inaccuracies that you may spot in the project pages. |
74 |
|
75 |
